Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working on TV and in films is most well-known for her roles in films like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her professional career in showbiz as a child. She was a lead actress in dramas on television as young at the age of 16. The role she played as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue in Downfall (an Oscar-nominated wartime historical film) was critically as well as critically acclaimed commercially. The other Oscar nominated films featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Over the years Alexandra has been involved in a variety of noteworthy national and international projects. The projects include British biographical films Control Greek dramatic film The Dust of Time French historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. She also remained member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
